In our club, we teach and coach Speech in three main categories:

Platform Speeches

Interpretation Speeches

Limited Prep Speeches

In each of these categories, your student will be stretched and encouraged in their communication.
Through the fall, students improve their skills in research, writing, developing and memorizing their speeches.
As the spring semester begins, they continue to hone their presentation skills as they prepare for tournaments.

Let’s look in detail at each of the types of speeches:


Platform Speeches

Deliver your own memorized speech and develop your presentation and writing skills. Inform or persuade your audience on a subject or issue that is of value to you. This can be done in three ways:

  • Digital Presentation
  • Informative Speech
  • Persuasive Speech

Interpretation

  • Biblical Thematic
  • Duo
  • Open
  • Original

Limited Prep

Test your quick-thinking skills! Draw a topic, compose your thoughts for a few minutes, and deliver a compelling speech.

  • Apologetics

  • Extemporaneous

Our club will focus primarily on Apologetics and Impromptu when we meet.
